Description

The name Suwandel is derived from the Sinhalese word “suwandha” and refers to the fragrant smell of this rice after cooking. Suwandel contains high amounts of vitamins and micronutrients, and is said to be beneficial in reducing blood pressure levels in the body. The rice also has a low Glycemic Index (GI), which make it a good source of food for diabetic patients. Just like in the time of our forefathers, no harmful agrochemicals have touched this rice, so that what you eat resembles what our ancestors consumed many years ago.
