Harvested from the time of ancient 
kings in Sri Lanka, this ancient variety of medium-sized red rice grows in the dry zone of the country. The prefix “Kalu”, meaning black, refers to the dark husk of the grain that turns black as it ripens. The grain itself is red however, & is rich in iron, zinc and fibre. Just like in the time of our forefathers, no harmful agrochemicals have touched this rice, so that what you eat resembles what our ancestors consumed many years ago. We do it because we’re not just serious about OUR health; we also strive to protect the health of the soil, water & air we inhabit.
